Sit outside during the milder months. The Patio is only accessible from the Adult or Youth departments and is open during library hours weather permiting.

Watch and listen to previews of select picture books before checking them out.

Printing

Computer workstations are networked to a color laser printer. You can also send a print job from your own device and even from outside the Library. All printouts are $.10/page.

If a sign language interpreter or other A.D.A. accommodation is needed for a program, please contact the Library at least 48 hours before the start of the program. Closed captioning is available during all zoom programs.

Reciprocal Borrowing

As a member in Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS), residents with a valid Carol Stream Public Library account may borrow materials from any other Illinois library that also participates in the program.

Tax forms

Tax forms

During tax season (usually January - April), the Library has limited amounts of Federal 1040 and IL-1040 forms and instructions. After supplies run out, the library will print out tax forms for free. However, tax instructions and publications will cost $0.10 per page. To check on specific forms, please call or email the Adult Services Desk.

Test proctoring

Test proctoring

The Library offers proctoring services free to adult Carol Stream Public Library cardholders on exams that are four hours or less. Proctoring must be scheduled at least one week in advance and by appointment only. Please complete the Proctoring Request Form.

Wifi

Wifi

The Library provides free wireless access to the Internet for those users who have a wireless-enabled computer or device. There is no login or password required. Carol Stream cardholders may also check out a WiFi hotspot for unlimited internet access while away from the Library. Use of the Library’s computers and wifi access constitutes acceptance and agreement of the Technology Resources Policy.
