About Your Library

The Carol Stream Public Library started out as one room in the Village Hall in September 1962. Residents donated everything: books, magazines, furniture, and even the shelves.

The Library moved to its current building in 1978. Outside, our building hasn’t changed much, but inside, we’re continuously reconfiguring, rearranging and refining our space and services to keep pace with the community’s changing needs.

With one eye always on the future, we help our community members live their best lives by providing quality informational, education, cultural and recreational resources.
