We welcome you to explore a new addition to the Library's enrichment opportunities: More Than a Month. This is a new series of events designed to help us learn how to recognize issues of systemic oppression and find opportunities to grow into a more equitable and inclusive community. Each year of the series will highlight a group whose experiences in and contributions to our society may have primarily been recognized only during an official heritage or awareness month. The first year of this series will focus on Black history and experiences in American society.
This month is a discussion of Brendan Kiely and Jason Reynolds' book All American Boys. "Rashad Butler and Quinn Collins are two young men, one black and one white, whose lives are forever changed by an act of extreme police brutality. Rashad wakes up in a hospital. Quinn saw how he got there. And so did the video camera that taped the cop beating Rashad senseless into the pavement. Thus begins All American Boys.
Once you register, we'll email you information about how to receive your free copy of the book from the Library via curbside pickup and an invitation to join the Zoom meeting.
