Program Description
Event Details
Underground Railroad quilts were said to have been used as communication tools for safe houses. There are heroes that helped along the way. Students will learn of those heroes and see examples of famous African American quilt patterns to inspire them to then choose a pattern to design a square of their own. Squares will then be compiled into a large quilt for the library. All materials supplied. Registration encouraged but not required.
Grades: 5 – 8
