The Library will be closed all day on Sunday, December 23; Monday, December 24; and Tuesday, December 25. We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26.

A Musical Tour Through African American History

Enjoy an evening of Cajun & New Orleans style cuisine. Demos and tastings will include Gumbo Ya Ya, Red Beans and Rice, Cajun Corn Pudding and a surprise dessert.

Last Wednesday Film Club: The Hate U Give

Movies will be shown with closed captioning for the hearing impaired. The Library will provide coffee and themed snacks. Plot: Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressure from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what's right. ( Rated PG-13.

DuPage Organic Garden Club (Community Group)

Since 1971, this club has been teaching members about building soil quality and taking care of garden pests naturally. A well-run ecological garden attracts birds and beneficial insects that help keep pests to a minimum and pollinate the plants. The programs are hosted by the DuPage Organic Garden Club and the Carol Stream Public Library.

Doors will open at 6:30p for Garden Club members to mingle. All are welcome.

StoryCorps is a non-profit dedicated to preserving and sharing humanity's stories. By contributing stories to the StoryCorps archive, you're helping to build a bridge of understanding between people. The StoryCorps app is a tool for collecting and uploading audio interviews. We'll teach you how to use the app to contribute the stories your family, friends, and neighbors to the project.

Microsoft Excel 101

Whether you want to get ahead at work or track your personal spending at home, learning excel can help you do it. This class will cover basics such as entering data, formatting the spreadsheet, and performing calculations. You’ll leave class ready to help your company analyze its operations or create a household budget.

Keyboard and mouse proficiency is required.
