Monday, June 10 - Saturday, August 10
Summer is fast approaching, bringing another exciting children’s summer reading program to the Library! The summer reading program officially begins Monday, June 10.

Middle school students in grades 6-8 will go “Beneath the Surface.” They will enjoy exploring below the earth’s crust, where many treasures lie, including wildlife, gems, and hobbit homes.
Summer Volunteer Applications available now at the
Carol Stream Public Library
Orientations sessions: Saturday, June 1, 1:00 p.m.; Tuesday, June 4, 7:00 p.m.; or Thursday, June 6, 7:00 p.m.
Do you look forward to joining the summer reading program every year? Do you love spending time at the Library? Do you need volunteer service hours? If you answered yes to any of these questions then the Library can use your help. This year, students in middle school, high school, and college are invited to volunteer to staff the summer reading table in the Youth Services Department. You will help register children for the program, award prizes, and assist with other tasks.
Volunteers need to be available to work a minimum of one two-hour shift each week during the course of the summer reading program, which runs June 10 through August 10. (Arrangements can be made to cover your shift for vacations.) Volunteers are taken on a first come, first served basis.
Complete and return the Summer Volunteer Application available (here) and at the Library and register online for one of the following mandatory orientation sessions: Saturday, June 1, 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 7:00 p.m.
