Food For Fines

Happy National Library Week!

Saturday, April 1–Friday, April 21

Reduce your library fines and help others at the same time – it’s a no brainer! From April 1–21, each non-perishable food item donated will clear $1 in overdue fines or processing fees, up to a maximum of $15.

  • Suggested items to donate include canned soups, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauces, rice, cereal, and jars of peanut butter and jelly.

  • Donated items cannot be used to waive charges for lost or damaged materials or purchases applied to your account.

  • The Library reserves the right to reject items, such as those that are expired or have damaged packaging.

The food we collect will go to the Community-wide Food Drive sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carol Stream. Everyone’s help is welcome: you don’t have to have fines to pay to donate food!
